My friends and I rented a VPS to host a dedicated game server. We chose THE.Hosting primarily for its location options and the advertised DDoS protection. I can confirm that the protection works; we've had no issues with downtime from attacks, which was a problem with our last host. The CPU performance is adequate for our needs, and the pricing is very competitive. The one minor downside is that the disk I/O speed is just average, which can cause slight lag when the server is loading new chunks/areas for the first time. For a casual gaming server, it's fantastic value. For a highly competitive, large-scale server, you might want to look at their higher-tier plans.
